Dear Readers,

Students and Well wishers of Maruti Seva family, my prayerful greetings to all of you first and foremost I would like to express my the deepest congratulations to all as we celebrate a Quarter-century of Maruti Seva School’s dedication to children with a diverse Disabilities, we honour the journey of resilience, growth and inclusivity. “For 25 years, Maruti Seva has been a beacon of hope and a symbol of inclusion for children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Down syndrome Slow Learners and Learning Disabilities. Here’s to the countless milestone achieved and the limitless possibilities ahead in celebrating 25 years of Maruti Seva School. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Founders, Directors, Teachers, Staff, Students and families who have contributed to our shared vision of inclusivity, acceptance and opportunities. Together, we have transform the challenges into triumphs and dreams into realities. May our journey continue to inspire compassion, understanding and progress in pursuit of inclusive education for all.

School Proceedings – Our school starts at 9:30 a.m. in the morning with the prayer followed by Tamil Thaivazhthu and Braingym everyday. Specific programs like Proverb Expansion (Monday), Mimicry (Tuesday), Religious songs (Wednesday), News Headlines (Thursday) and Meditations (Friday) are organised on weekdays to bring out the talent of our children. Classes begins at 10:15 a.m. with Individualised Educational Program (IEP) for each child. Evening assembly begins at 2:45 p.m. with prayer and Thirukural Therapy followed by National Anthem. Extra curricular activities like Arts and Crafts, Singing, Dancing, Drawing, Coloring, Painting and Group Activities are also performed periodically.

Remedial Education – Remedial education is conducted after the school hours to assist Slow Learners and children with Learning Disabilities – Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia. Speech and Cognitive Therapy forms important aspects in Remedial education. This Remedial education is advantageous to the children from 2½ to 18 years. This supportive education is very beneficial for children who are studying in mainstream school.

Celebration In Our School – We celebrate Independence Day, Teacher’s Day, Children’s Day, Republic day, Annual sports day and Annual day in a very grand manner. The cultural events performed by our children are valued by all kind hearted souls and enjoyed by the audience.

Evaluation – The important aspect of our school is its Periodical Evaluation, which is done to access and achieve the curriculum developed for the prescribed period. It is because of this, we can reach the achievement and do proper rectification. It is only evaluation which can measure the achievements. We maintain separate files for each child to record his / her progress from the time of admission.

Assessment – Assessment is the systematic basis for making interference about the learning and development of students. It is a process of defining, selecting, designing, collecting, analysing, interpreting and using information to increase students learning and development. In our school at the beginning of every academic year assessment is done for all students. “Recognising the unique strength needs and abilities of each student, Maruti Seva School adopts on individualized approach to support and instruction. Teacher and staff work closely with students to develop personalized learning plan accommodation and intervention that promote academic success and Holistic development.

IEP (Individualised Education Plan) – Design to meet the child’s individual needs our school follows its unique methodology which is totally different from the Other Regular Schools and Special Schools. We try to achieve those skills which will help the students


We teach those skills to the students by playing both the role of a teacher as well as a friend. The teaching strategies that we follow is not merely oral, it is also by using stories, song, role play and also by using appropriate teachers made Teaching Learning Materials (TLM). These are various types of skills. We follow Activity Based Learning (ABL) method. Initially we start with primary or lower level skills then we motivate the students to go to the next level of skills. The students also actively participate in the learning process. The skills are not achieved in 1 or 2 years, they are all achieved within 3 months. This is a great achievement done by our school. Every Friday there will be weekly test, Quarterly exam, Half yearly exam and Annual exams are also conducted.

NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) – Since 2010 our school enrolls the students of age 14 and above in NIOS for both Secondary (10th Std.) and Senior secondary (12th Std.) exams. The NIOS formerly National Open School is the Board of Education under the Union Government of India. The courses is offered in both English and Tamil medium (only for 10th ). After clearing NIOS exam, many students have completed their Degrees, vocational training and settled in various jobs. Once again we are starting State Board syllabus for 10th and 12th from this academic year.

Community outreach – Maruti Seva School actively engage with local communities through outreach programs, awareness campaign and participation in community events. By educating the public about the importance of Inclusive Education and the service offered by the school. Maruti Seva established itself as a valuable resource for family seeking support for children with diverse abilities . Through outreach programs, advocacy and community partnership, the school advocates for the rights and inclusion of individuals disabilities on a broader scale.
